NEWPORT BEACH (Episode 1)—Michael Bluth has been named the new president of the Bluth Company by C.E.O. Lucille Bluth after Buster served as president for the shortest time in company history. Michael had been planning on starting a new job at rival development company Sitwell Housing, when family members staged an intervention (or more accurately, an imposition) to recall Michael to the Newport Beach-based company.
The Bluth Company has been in turmois since the Securities and Exchange Commission (S.E.C.) arrest former chairman George Bluth, Sr. on charges of defrauding customers and using the company as a personal piggy bank. The Bluth Company is headquartered in Newport Beach, and its latest housing development is Sudden Valley. The Bluth Company operates the Bluth’s Original Frozen Bananas stand on Balboa Island.
