Being BeefJello, I consider myself an expert. I’m guessing the beef has to do with the fact that GOB and Michael are somewhat fighting. They each have a "beef" with one another about being with each other’s girl. Also, consumme’ sounds similar to consumate, as in Michael was about to consumate the relationship with Marta if he didn’t keep getting interrupted by his beef with his brother (although the wand and cover song and jesus pic didn’t help).

Someone mentioned the consumme’ part previously I believe, and I tend to agree with them. I think I added my own twist on beef, but I’m not sure.

Let me tell you a little story about this episode. Now, you take this episode, throw it in a pot, add some broth, some veggies, a potato. Baby, you’ve got a Beef Consomme going!

Tobias doesn’t say "nein wohlstandig nude" he says "nie vollstaendig nude" which means "never completely nude"

Just out of curiosity, is there any specific reference behind Lucille’s line, "How do you like them egg rolls, Mr. Goldstone?" It makes my laugh muscles jiggle.

I think it’s from the song Rose’s Turn from the musical Gypsy. Rose’s Turn is also the song in the background when Lucille is alone in Bringing Up Buster and Buster is alone in MotherboyXXX.

BepperGirl wrote:For those who are interested, I asked my aunt who knows German what "nein wohlstandig nude" means in English... She said nein was no, she couldn’t find wohlstandig but found that wohlstand is prosperity, and nude was translated as nude.

hehe, yeah, that’s the usual way of making some german-sounding stuff up, can be seen in pretty much every other show, too.

a literal german translation of nevernude would be "nienackt" but that sounds very stupid so you could also make that "niemalsnackt", which is a bit better, but still sounds very weird, and you would pronounce it neemulsnugged.

the only time i saw someone speak actual german in a tv show was elliot on scrubs. in the episode where there a 2 german guys in the hospital, they both speak the usual nonsense jibberish, but sarah chalke can speak german in real life so her lines are 95% correct.

This is the correct answer.

LOLL! i love that too

I only just noticed this part now, I’m pretty slow on the uptake, but in that scene where GOB "raced" down to the studio to confront Marta with Michael in hot pursuit, it’s so funny! The pathetic little segway scooting along slowly with the slowwwwww stairway vehicle and everybody else overtaking them hahah. And the spanish music in the background being all hectic and mood setting.

In this episode when Gob says he lets his fists do the talking he says that he doesn’t use his right hand to fight. But he attacks Tio with his right hand. Just wondering if anyone else had noticed this.

Did anyone else notice that in the beginning when it shows the definition for hermano it also shows the definition for hermafrodita (Hermaphrodite), and the illustration for this looks oddly like Tobias in cutoffs (and sans mustache).
