It’s a shame that the whole Gob/Wife scenario is in this episode because it’s so hilarious, yet it’s stuck within the Maggie Lizer storyline.

Dideldamdam wrote:also worth mentioning is when gob tells michael that he got some major action from some major blonde who majored in marine biology. well, since there’s already one seinfeld cast member on this episode, we all know what profession george costanza pretended to have in the episode where kramer hits the golf ball into the whale’s air hole...

The sea was angry that day, my friend, like an old man trying to send back soup in a deli

Isn’t the kid who says "somebody give her a cupcake" when Maeby/Surely F starts coughing the one who gets to dance with Ms Bearly, using a plot GM had once come up with.

Or am I way off ?

I’m pretty sure it is, which makes it a callback to when that same kid made Ms. Barely the Saddam cupcakes.

Heyyyy funny ! I didn’t get the cupcake reminiscing joke ...

:)

(So I guess that’d make him the "cupcake kid")

I found something else in this episode. Now you gotta look very carefully it’s a freeze frame joke.

Lindsay: Big surprise, Mom. Like you ever took an interest in our lives. Honestly, if I ever did to Maeby what you...

Narrator: Lindsay recalled that earlier that day she had received a letter from the high school about her own daughter.

If you look carefully at the letter, you can read that :

"I have contacted you twice through your voice mail with no response" :D

Also it’s nowhere written "Needs more parental involvement", but I wouldn’t read too much into this.

Thought I’d put in my 2 cents on stuff I noticed.

Things Michael Mouths in this episode:

1. " I took a blind woman out with no intention of dating her again? please." (Mouthing) "You have got to be kidding"
2. "If this is a one night stand I’m not very good at it" (Mouthing) "What is wrong with me".
3. Maggie: "Do We Have A Case?" Michael: (Mouthing) "Oh My GOD!"

Maggie’s dog is named Justice; The Inmate in Staff Infection that George Sr. Converts was named Little Justice (latter David Ben-Avram). The dog’s name IS most likely a lawyer joke, but I still thought it was an odd coincidence.

Also in regards to the question about Surely Fünke there was a poster about her in the school hallway in the episode Shock and Aww

And so far as the kid who says "Somebody get her a cupcake" being Jeremy from Shock and Aww I’m 99.9% sure it’s 2 different kids.

about the marine biology quote. It is not an allusion to Seinfeld. Which yes in an allusion to Tony Wonder’s "Use Your Allusion". It is because she literally did get a degree in marine biology. She sells seals.

What is the music that plays while Barry is driving around the City of Industry at the beginning of the episode?

It also plays on "Best Man for the Gob" when the narcoleptic stripper first appears in a flashback.
