When G.O.B. interferes at work, Michael gives him his own banana stand in an effort to keep him occupied. But when Michael learns that George, Sr. has been using G.O.B. to plot against him, he confronts G.O.B. The brothers decide to band together to teach George, Sr. a lesson once and for all. Meanwhile, Lucille gets a facelift and Tobias and Lindsay vie for Bob Loblaw’s attention.

The Marta bit always confused me because it obviously wasn’t the Marta we all know and wouldn’t fit with her plot.

The Marta thing was intended as a joke for die hard fans. You know, because there were two marta’s, why not have a marta 3.0.

Haha great line in the begining when Ron is narrorating about GOB becoming more involved in the company and then says, "But he found himslef overwhelmed by the change." When he really meant the pennies he was loading into his pennies trick...yea yea illusion.

also, in the same scene, michael says "the last few weeks have seen us hemmorhaging money"
it’s like the same joke presented two different ways right next to each other, and they’re both subtle and hilarious. this show is awesome.

How funny is it that when Lucille wakes up thirsty in the middle of the night she makes herself a martini...ha

Well the episode just finished airing for the first time in Australia and the end credits had the music of “Yellow Boat” instead of the normal credit music.

You hear a short version of “Yellow Boat" during the second photo montage.

Here it is straight from my DVB recording: http://members.optusnet.com.au/wired_man/AD_308_credit_music-Yellow_Boat.mp2 (right click > Save Link As) 1.10mB.

Damn, you beat me to it. Oh well, thanks for the upload! Razz

First time I predicted a credits song, but unfortunately, I really can’t see them doing any more for the rest of the season. Maybe one of the Hung Jury songs in Fakin’ It, but that’s about it.

On an unrelated note, a good subtle joke that’s yet been mentioned is after Michael leaves the conference room to talk to Lindsay you hear the dove flapping and cooing following someone saying "There’s a bird in here!"

I only just noticed this watching it on DVD. Great joke.

I think this is the best episode of arrested development.

Making a Stand is the second episode my Mum has watched in it’s entirety. I love Gob in this so much and the way Michael is totally blase about the Bluth family weirdness.

I like all the father/ son stuff and Steve’s attempts to connect with Gob. I also think it makes the Gob Girlfriend reveal that bit more disturbing since Steve is presuambly older than that woman whose name I can’t remember.

Plus the last few scenes are a postmodernist’s nightmare because there is layer upon layer upon layer upon layer upon layer etc etc.

I think it’s funny that the two different flashbacks to the young Bluths have different actors playing them. I know the weatherman flashbacks have been used before. It adds to the general zaniness of the show.
