In reality: the most famous Ten Commandments case involved Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice Roy Moore, who installed a 5,280-pound granite monument of the Ten Commandments in the rotunda of the Alabama Judicial Building in 2001. A 2003 U.S. District Court found the display violated the Constitution’s requirement of separation of Church and state, and ordered its removal. Justice Moore refused to comply, and was suspended; the display has been removed from public view.
