The housing contract cutback is a thinly veiled reference to Fox’s reduction of the season two episode order of Arrested Development. Both were reduced from 22 to 18.

Thank goodness for TiVo, because when I heard that one I had to pause it so I could laugh for about a full minute. And then when Michael says they had the blueprints for all 22 houses (aka scripts for all 22 episodes) and the narrator says, "Well, that one wasn’t true, but they were going to," I had to pause it again. These people are GENIUSES! How could cancel a show this good?
