Fox's history of "huge mistakes" with great shows.

I've been watching Fox shows since I was a little kid when the simpsons first came on I remember there were alot of great shows as well as dumb shows. But the great shows are the ones that got pulled way too early some examples are...

Ben Stiller Show:
One of Judd Apatow's first, this was a breeding ground for many of the funniest people in comedy today. Such as David Cross, Bob Odenkirk, Andy Dick, Stiller, and Jenene Garafalo

Get a Life:
Yeah it was really dumb, but hillarious and now it has a cult following. It was so dumb it was genius!!

Undeclared:
Another Apatow creation. Didn't really see alot of it, but it also got pulled way too early and it was such critically acclaimed.

Family Guy:
Okay Fox realized their mistake in this one and that's why they are making new episode in the upcoming month. So funny and edgy.

Am I missing any others? those are the only ones I can think of now.

I was about to say that. That show was great. It was so creative and innovative.

The Critic was also really good. To me, it was on par with the Simpsons, if not better.

Does anybody remember Herman's Head? That was also an awesome show that was cut too short.

FOX is the leader of releasing really creative, cutting edge different kind of comedy shows and then canceling them quickly.

I remember Herman's Head!! Two of the voices of the Simpsons were on that (Azaria and Yeardly Smith) that show was funny as hell. My sister used to worship that show.(she had a crush on Herman)

Hopefully, the fact that we are midway through the second season of AD is a sign that they are slowly learning the error of their ways.

I still can't believe they managed to take a Matt Groening show and bury it. I know that FUTURAMA was no SIMPSONS, but it was still good, and if they had scheduled it at 8:30 following The Simpsons, it would still be delivering strong ratings for them...

I hope FOX means what they say about wanting the Bluth family around for years. Looking at that list of past cancellations, I see shows that could have easily bloomed into hits if they had been nurtured and promoted well.

It took Seinfeld a good 3 seasons to get its foot in the door, really. A lot of these shows should have been given more time. Especially Greg the Bunny, which aired.... what, 12 episodes? It recieved a good reaction from the public and press as well.

I couldn't agree more.

I also think it's a mistake for the show to be on Fox in the first place. Arrested Development should be on HBO.

Oh... and what about Wonderfalls? and Firefly?

Its true, Arrested Development will not be treated right on FOX... but I'm glad its not on HBO or I wouldn't be able to see it ;)

Futurama is definitely another show to be screwed over by Fox. Futurama was much, MUCH funnier than the last few seasons of Simpsons. The only reason it didn't bring in viewers is because no one knew when the show would air. The timeslot would be different each and every week, and the show would sometimes be preemted by sports for weeks or months at a time before a new episode finally aired. I hate Fox so much :(

I love King of the Hill. I've always enjoyed it. It may not always be amazingly funny, but it's always very interesting. I love it. It's on it's 9th season now. Wow...9 years.

Anyway, there's no arguing that FOX's batting average is abysmal.

Fox also cancelled Dark Angel, The Lone Gunmen, and John Doe. Add that to Futurama, Wonderfalls, Firefly, ARCTU, GTB, Titus, Futurama, and Family Guy and you can see how truly see: Fox is dumb. :P
