Curb Your Enthusiasm

There are shows other than Arrested Development? Really?

Postby alexcase » September 3rd, 2006, 5:20 pm

Season 3 is probrably my favourite series, in particular Krayzee-eyes killa, and some brilliant Suzie quotes:

"what kind of freak of
beeping
nature doesn't want a house tour?"

In reference to Larry getting Jeff 12 sponge cakes "What he isn't fat enough? I dont know what i'm going to do with those"

I also loved it when he accidently got Sammy drunk and then had to explain to the women that she was drunk:
"Drunk how old is this girl?"
"Seven"

And I also liked the one where Larry eats the Jesus cookies, Cheryl's sister totally over reacted was brilliant "YOU ATE OUR LORD AND SAVIOUR LARRY".

Season 4 was good too with the whole "i fell down the toilet" but the best was possibly when he phoned up David Schwimmer's dad and swore down the phone at him.

best scene i can remember from the car pool lane is Larry's reaction when the prostitute says 'I will pull/pop a tiddy out'

Wow. Arrested Development, Curb You Enthusiasm, and Seinfeld? You're already on my good side, wtfamhe.

other good expressions are when Larry raised his fists to the blind pianist while helping him unpack, or the shot of Larry after he and Ted Danson rip the shirt in half in Chet's Shirt. he should have his own alias-type show.

I think I started watching on and off during the third season, but I didn't really get into it until season 5. I've been catching up, starting with the first episode, and I just finished season 3. My favorite episode might just be the christmas one, where Larry rents the nativity scene. But the end of the finale is classic on it's own. (Old new obviously, but i'm a fan of Roger Ebert, and he's partially the model for the food critic who gets his thumbs broken. Ebert gave a really bad review to Larry's movie "Sour Grapes," and I think that was a little pay back.)

They should do a whole episode where Larry just runs and makes that Running Face. I could watch that all day. Some of my favorite eps are Trick or Treat, the finale to season 3 is classic, and the one where they get kicked out of the country club. This reminds me that I need to pick up season 5.

maybe a whole show on Larry (semi-retarded individual) trying to change a flat tire, from the Thor episode. one of the best scenes thus far...

Season 6. September 9.

The much anticipated 10-episode sixth season of Larry David's comedy "Curb Your Enthusiasm" will launch Sept. 9 and will run in the Sunday 10 p.m. time slot. During the "Curb" TCA session, David indicated that he hasn't decided whether the series will continue beyond the coming season and that the season finale leaves that door open.

Let's see how 6 turns out...hopefully it's better than 5.

I finally saw a bit of this show! I think it's really funny, except I'm having a problem with it that I also had with the UK version of The Office, which is that I get a bit too uncomfortable to sit through the whole thing (I just can't watch people making asses of themselves on tv shows for too long). I do want to see more though, so hopefully these feelings will go away. :D

Just get a big pillow to hide behind, and you can also chew on it when it gets incredibly embarrassing. I also use this technique for The Office and Peep Show.
If the crib is on fire you don't speculate that the baby might be flame retardant.

I've only been able to see CYE three times since I don't get HBO at my house, and I thought it was hysterically funny. The best episode I saw was "Kamikaze Bingo" - the ending was brilliant and had me laughing for days afterward. I was just wondering if some of the show's fans could tell me which season they consider to be the best/funniest, so I could buy the DVDs. Should I just start from the beginning, or just buy all the DVDs anyway? Many people say that the later seasons aren't that great - but I'd like some more opinions on the show since I'm interested in getting into it.
