30 Rock

There are shows other than Arrested Development? Really?

Hey guys. I watched the Tina Fey show 30 Rock last night. It was on CTV in Canada a day early for some reason. Anyway, I highly recommend it, at least so far. It isn't really like any other sitcom I've seen before but closest to Arrested Development and is pretty funny and very surreal.

Thanks, I wasn't planning on watching it but I think I'll give it a try now, if it's anywhere close to AD I'll be happy.

It was ok, and it's the pilot, so maybe once it gets going it'll be better. The scenes with Jane Krakowski really stood out though, because all I could imagine is how much better Dratch probably was in them. Case in point this preview which has a clip about 2/3 in with Rachel Dratch playing the role (she shot the pilot, and then they reshot it).

As a GE employee and knowing that NBC is part of GE, I still found this show hilarous, I loved the gentle poking at GE. This will be the talk of the water cooler tomorrow.

Funny note my friend brought up at work today.

Tracey was the third heat that could help cook the turkey in 22 minutes. 30 minute shows get roughyl 22 minutes of air time plus commercials?

Coincidance? I think not.

Didn't care for it. Probably because AICN talked it up as the best sitcom on TV. Which it isn't.

Some funny bits, but overall it was weak.

I must say though, even though the pilot wasnt perfect I have yet to see a real outstanding pilot this season. As far as new comedies go it's decent. I hope it stays

Second Episode wasn't as funny, but it's a still pretty good. It's probably the second best running live action comedy show on american tv, behind The Office of course.

I liked the second episode. It's starting to appear like a strange mix of Larry Sanders, AD, and Newsradio. And while I'm not sure if it's quite reached its stride comedically, you couldn't find a better inspiration than that.

Really? Tracy makes insulting remarks towards everyone and leads Liz to make insulting remarks, too. So to make everything alright, he throws a huge party for everyone on his yacht. Then they find a Mexican housekeeper who tells them it's not really their boat, the police come, and everyone dives off the yacht to avoid being arrested? I didn't see that twist coming. Though there were DEFINITE shades of AD in there, if that's what you meant.

Not going to lie I was really hoping for a "Prepare to be boarded". I was pleased, I read some where Chris Parnell will be on for a few episodes. I'm excited, as long as they steer clear ofr Sanz I'll be happy. If Tracey Morgan talks about Chicken every episode me= happy camper.
