The one name capable of snapping me out of singing "Luck Be A Lady" in my head.
I put pictures of young Brando on my iPod and I don't think it's weird at all.

I've only seen one show that was actual Broadway (the rest were way-off-Broadway, as in not even in the US) and that was The Lion King like two weeks ago. Complete insanity. I can't believe I still remembered all the songs - I thought grown-up academia and seeing Blue Velvet had pushed out my Disney childhood, but huzzah, it didn't!

Young Marlon Brando is gorgoeus. He was half the reason our english class last year liked reading A Streetcar Named Desire so much. (we got to watch the film and the simpsons episode "a streetcar named marge). I haven't seen any other movies of his, but he was phenomenal in "Streetcar"

Disney rocks. I love The Lion king, watching it almost everyday with me older brother is one of my favorite childhood memories...

I love old school disney movies. It sucks that Disney movies don't have songs anymore, they were half the fun!
Did you know that they've got a Tarzan musical coming out? I don't know how it'll work though, since the movie just had songs in the background

Personally, I think they should've made Aladdin, but whatever

Yeah, young Marlon Brando's great. But you have to admit that if you think of the Godfather, probably his most famous role, and then you picture him singing in G&D, it's kinda funny. But the fact that he was so diverse is one of the reasons he was such a successful actor.
Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: "Mankind". Basically, it's made up of two separate words- "mank" and "ind". What do these words mean? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind.

That perhaps also applies to Clint Eastwood.

And ditto on the Streetcar love - I went to an all girls' high school, and shirtless Brando was on the cover of our book, so it was good stuff. Streetcar also became my favourite movie of all time, so suck it, Robert Rodriguez fans.

In addition, I have old-school Brando pictures on my iPod instead of cover art for some songs.

Yeah, Streetcar was the only Tennessee Williams play I ever liked. I wonder if he has something to do with it.

It's the only one I've read. I liked it, although it was incredibly depressing

I've had this line from The Last Five Years running through my head ever since the bad news about AD.

"I could never rescue you. No matter how'd I'd try, all I could do was love you hard and let you go."

Yeah, that's probably part of it too. And Cat on a Hot Tin Roof isn't so great either.

Does anyone else know Caroline, Or Change? I put it on my iPod and it's really growing on me. It's weird -- it's sung all the way through, but there aren't very many full songs. It's hard to listen to at first, but the lyrics are really good and as a whole script it's amazing, and I love how each character has their own style of music. Tony Kushner's a genius.

I love the play, but thought the movie was only okay. If you want to read my giant rant about it (and what other people thought too) you can go here: http://the-op.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=2325

I just watched it. The play was much better, but I guess that was expected. I agree with what you said in your rant

So, can anyone fill me in on what happened at the Tony's last night? Once again (4th year in a row?) I successfully intended to watch and then didn't. This year it was because my roommate and her boyfriend were killing me at Scrabble.

Yes, that's right, I missed the Tony Awards because I was playing Scrabble. I'm the most pathetic person in the world.
