Why, Tracy? Why?

Postby Beatrice » April 13th, 2005, 11:29 am

i got the 3x1minus1 when i watched run ronnie run, it was the only thing i really liked in the entire movie.
GOB: Wow, it won't be easy to win a race against myself. Of course, if anyone can do it, I can.

The great part is that Cross swears that the bit was based on old R. Kelly music and videos.

the only thing i can think of with Tobia's always being seen laying in a fireplace is its a backwards take on "in the closet"..

almost like saying Tobias is so ass-backwards that instead of being in the closet..he is "in the fireplace"?

I have a question, what did GOB say after Michael said "We think you have a problem"

"You're a ..."?

It sounded like "nesh", but I looked it up and that couldn't be it. The closest word it sounds like that would fit would be "lush", but I know he didn't say that.

I'd also like to say how much I appreciate that they all have drinks in their hands as they confront her for her drinking problem. More subtle genius that I didn't fully realize until watching it a second time.

He says "mesh" which is drunk for "mess"
G.O.B.: Michael, if I make this comeback, I’ll buy you a hundred George Michaels that you can teach to drive.

Michael: You’re losing blood, aren’t you?

G.O.B.: Probably. My socks are wet.

Aha. Now I feel stupid for having to ask, yet relieved for finally knowing.

Thank you, Tio.

And after watching it again, Michael says after that scene,
"Well maybe an intervention is the wrong approach, what about rehab? She was just a mess at that meeting".

Another fairly obvious reason I should have got it myself.

Anyone notice:

(This is all in one of the security camera split-screens)

1) GOB jumping OVER the car to get to the driver's side as he, Michael, and Lucille escape the rehab center? (happens right when they cut to the security-camera scene)

2) Oscar getting attacked by the police and are just about to hit him with the baton in similar fashion to when they frequently attacked him in "The One Where Michael Leaves" when they thought he was George Sr.? (upper-left security camera view)

This is the first time I really liked the Oscar jokes with him hanging on the banister and refusing to let go rather than trying to run.

OK, something me and my brother were just talking about, at the intervention, everyone's all wasted and acting wacky, but Buster was supposed to have not had alcohol since nursing, so was he just supposed to be acting wacky for the sake of acting wacky? Or were we supposed to assume he had some juice?
We may pick on each other, get into little scrapes, call each other names and occasionally steal from each other, but that’s because we're family.

either a juice box or he was just being silly buster.

his jamming on the keys reminded me of the tribal drumming in episode 1

I'd vote for a juice box.

I mean he must have had them before, because Lucille says, "No Juice for you, you just get more awful." So he's been awful with them before. Perhaps that was the time.

I think juice is very plausible since it seems to be no secret in the family that Buster acts crazy with juice, exemplifyed when Michael talked about Lucille and Buster on their respective drinks of choice in Meet the Veals.

Did Tobis dancing remind anyone else of how Snoopy dances? I just feel like this show has a lot of Peanuts connections.
