#308: Making a Stand

The final countdown?

Postby uconnbigo » December 22nd, 2005, 10:54 am

i agree that they must want us to think of Ann, but it could be eve holt. I wish they did have eve holt become a character, but they showed her high school picture, so theyd likely need to find someone who looks like her. Steve is in the show more, and we have no reason to believe he didnt live with his mother before finding out GOB was his father, so shouldnt she be in the picture to a certain degree?

it never said he was adopted, just that he was a bastard

by the way, the scene with steve and GOB in the park "where that kid found the severed hand" is so funny. steve doesnt even notice that its the guy he was just showed a picture of, and their little conversation about the statue is great too

-just like that kid who found the severed hand
-hey dad look what I got!!
-anything for his fathers approval....

Isn't all this best ever episode moot since everyone knows the best episode ever was 'Good Grief'?

Well…I don't know what I'm saying.

I second that (about Good Grief not about not knowing what you're saying!)

Sick it may be, but it seems pretty obvious it's Ann
excuse me, while i stick my pretty little nose in here, but
isn't justine bateman gonna be guest starring? i believe she's supposed to possibly be a long-lost sister, and a love interest, but it didn't say if she would be with michael.just a thought, considering she's the only upcoming guest star i know about, january 9th. and it would still be incest, which this show loves

not that Gob would care about that or anything, just wondering.

Yes, and that seems like it might start treading on ground that's not really funny. Then again, they had Lindsay pursuing Steve Holt! But he's apparently older than your average high school student.

I think what probably makes the most sense is someone we have yet to encounter, although Eve Holt would be a great one.

in sad sack maeby tells lindsay, "he's 19, and a senior at my school!"

that basically indicates that steve is/was fair game...

not that it matters, i mean really who the hell cares, after all... i'm married with a kid, um, i'm on... bad... mushrooms?

forget it

Yeah, same here. To me, it's just a very good episode, not on par with my favorite episode, Amigos.

Hey Fizellas. Don't let the post count fool you. Long time watcher and lurker here. I have resisted joining in on these forums due to the time consuming nature of forums. But I noticed something and I wondered if anyone else had noticed it too...

three...four...

The last ep was indeed "pretty good" but something was a little off. Second-of-ly, while reading the transcript for Prison Break-In, it seemed that it should have been a funnier ep, but it just didn't come off that well.

What's has been going wrong? I think it was the editing. Watching the special features of season 1 DVDs, it was mentioned how much time the editors put into getting the 2-camera shots just right, and how they'd labor over 7 different versions of the same scene trying to find what was funniest. My guess is that budget restrictions have been hacking away at the editing process, and the show just doesn't flow at the same rate.

So, what do you think of Mr Post-count-one?

Who's the he/she in that sentence? Let's not say things we don't mean just to be hurtful. Amigos was great and Season 3's going pretty good so far. Good Grief is in another league. OK that's my last comment on it, honest.

feel free to relax there champ/princess...

the he/she is used as i can't identify kaijufan's gender based on his/her user-name. i did it again there with you sir/miss. see how unassuming and nonoffensive that is?

before you go on assuming the role of the forum police, you should try, and i really mean it...try, to read someone's entire SENTENCE instead of just 2 words before you let the little red man on your left shoulder convince you to hit enter.

and just to get you caught up, "i don't think he(she) knows what he(she) is saying" is a quote from the episode in question... you should know, you said it's in "another league". so realx, take a chill pill and chase it with a glass of egg-nog, and have yourself a merry little christmas.

Gosh you sure set me straight…but I think you're a little off base. My comment "Who's the he/she in that sentence?" is a quote from The Prison Break-In episode. Nothing more. No malice on my end. The rest of my comment was half-hearted huffing (at best) in response to the comment about someone not liking 'Good Grief'. The reality of the situation is to each his/her own.
