Someone asked this already, but wtf is the deal with Ron Howard's "all kids like galas" joke?
I didn't think it was anything big, just that all kids like the idea of getting dressed up, going to a nice place - the whole idea of a gala is appealing to a kid in a way that it isn't to an adult.
One of my favorite lines of last night.
No, this isn't a sarcastic line--I didn't catch it the fist time, but listen to Michael's dialogue also:
Michael says that only losers go to galas with their parents. The narrator says that all kids like galas, which tells us that he, the narrator, went to galas with his parents as a kid and is, according to Michael's theory, a loser. It's actually pretty funny.

That isn't out of character for them at all. After all, they were going to try to get Michael to marry Rita, knowing she's a special millionaire.
(BTW, who is to say that they wouldn't try to get Tobias to remove the hairplugs after the GvH event?)

Besides, there were so many funny moments...
"Nobody sells any coke in this pen without daddy getting a taste."
I just loved how the school children were acting out Gentile's play.
Frightened Inmate #2 wrote:"Ready, Aim, Marry Me?" Why that one stinks!

I thought that this was just saying that even though GM wanted to go to the 'gayla' he didn't want to seem like a loser by his father's definition, in addition to not wanting to be near Tobias.
all that said, i'm excited to see the remaining few episodes and would like to be optimistic about it's future, but if this is all we get, let's at least enjoy the ride because it may be over soon
