MAEBY A MOVIE!!!! AD movie in the works?

Random thoughts about Arrested Development that don't fit into the above categories.

Postby Kid Viravax » February 26th, 2008, 2:45 pm

I'm happy, but disappointed.

The show was barely succesfull on TV over here in the UK so i very much doubt it'l be brought to the big screen over here. So eitherway looks like i'll have to wait extra time until the DVD release comes out.

Taste my sad.

Have more faith! Now that Michael Cera is hot property, people will be fighting over themselves to show it.

I, however, will be slightly bitter and possessive about it all, because I SAW HIM FIRST DAMN IT.

Would you rather see an Arrested Development movie next year BUT 30 Rock gets cancelled this week
or
No movie but two more seasons of 30 Rock.

I'd go AD. I really like 30 Rock but it just reminds me how much I really love AD :)

I like 30 rock also but I HATE Tina Fay I would love to see the show go all because of her.

I haven't been on The OP for long, but it seems that these last few days there has been a little more activity.

We've already got live-ins - what do you think FI#2 and vcalzone are?

Yeah, I guess that's true. They know that there's a banjo in the closet. But what I meant was that we may get some more live-ins.

id actually prefer the movie 2 go straight to dvd, because im from the uk, i will be able to order it when it comes out because i very much doubt it being on the big screen here, also if it did go straight to dvd, there would be no 'fake' fans who just see the movie and think they love AD, when us guys have loved it from day 1

I think that is because my Dad never told me about The OP. So I made a vow that someday, when I had kids, that I would take them to the OP, or that I would promise to take them to the OP and then not take them. But the one thing I would never do is not tell them about the OP, and then not take them.

From Ausiello (or USA Today?):

Question: Have you heard any new scuttlebutt about the possible, highly anticipated Arrested Development movie? — Sarah
Ausiello: At the Independent Spirit Awards over the weekend, Jason Bateman told USA Today that the project is "gathering momentum." I'm guessing one potential sticking point could be the fact that Michael Cera has become a huge frakkin' star! Maybe they could call it "Michael Cera's Arrested Development." Or "Arrested Development with Michael Cera." Or just "Michael Cera." Or… (Any/all suggestions submitted to the Ask Ausiello Discussion Thread will be promptly forwarded to 20th Century Fox.)

I really worry about michael ceras stardom either jeapordising the movie, or turning it into a big commercial bastard which has none of the underground funnies we all loved it for.

I've been a little worried about that too. But this is one of the few shows that I really trust the writers to not let us down.
