So far all we know is that several cast members have been mentioning it. All say that we're waiting on Mitch Hurwitz to get a script and details to be worked out to bankroll it. Until then, it has an IMDb page. If you get any new information, add it to the "Maeby A Movie" thread!

"You just had a glue OD, and those are pretty regular in my life. So here's another lesson: don't huff too much glue, or your night sucks."

UPDATED THREAD: SURELY A MOVIE

Ron Howard and Mitch Hurwitz (writing and directing) have now reportedly signed deals for an Arrested Development movie with Imagine and Fox Searchlight. The budget is rumored at $15 million.

Most of cast members sound on board with the probable holdout being Michael Cera. [E! 12/8/2008]

Comments to the media (UPDATED 12/18/2008):

Will Arnett - 12/26/08 - EW - “Arrested Development has such a special place in my heart, and I can't wait to strap that fake hand back on and fight the seal once and for all—wait, which guy did I play? It’ll be fun to get back together with everybody and work on it. It’s been so long now, we almost have to do it. It’s like we have to finish the joke.”

Tony Hale - 12/18/08 - Paste - “I want Buster’s hand to become bionic. All the cast members, we’re all fans of the show. I want to read the script. I want to see what Mitch comes up with. Who knows what will happen? What’s so great about him and Jim Vallely is they constantly surprise you. I’d love for Liza Manelli to come back and be my love interest. Stuff like that would just be a blast to do again.”

“Pretty much, we’re all willing to do it. I think it’s a matter of everybody’s schedule just being crazy. After the show, everybody did their own thing. We all had babies. So it’s just tough to pull everybody’s schedule together. And it’s also a matter of the budget and what they can do it for. I’d love for it to happen because I’d love to get together with everybody and just play and have a great time. There are a lot of other factors involved, but it seems like everybody’s excited about it.”

11/30/08 - Boston Herald - “I’ve heard so many rumors that until we’re shooting, I’m not going to believe it,” he said. “It’s looking pretty good now. It would be so awesome to just hook up with all those guys again. Everybody was so great and funny, and we had respect for each other and what each person brought to the table. It was really awesome.”

Jeffrey Tambor - “Well no, because we're doing it. We are going. It's a go. I actually just this week talked to Mitch Hurwitz, so we're doing it.”

Jason Bateman - 12/3/2008 - Metro (UK) - “Well it looks as if it's going to happen... The question is who wants to be a part of it.” (Thanks, smeddy.)

6/2008 - MSNBC - "It's in the works. The grown-ups are trying to work out the numbers. David is very expensive now."

6/2008 - Times of London (UK) - "When it was on TV, if you missed one word the whole third act could be blown for you. And TV is a different experience. You come home and you've got to finish a call so you miss the first ten minutes or you get snacky and you go to the fridge and you miss another two minutes, so it's a different experience to film."

Ron Howard - 12/4/2008 - Time - “I hope there's going to be an Arrested Development movie because there's this out-of-work narrator who just can't wait to get back to the microphone. If nothing else, just to get people to stop asking me about it.”

11/21/2008 - Access Hollywood - “We still don’t have a script,” Ron admitted to Access. “But it seems that the studio… and the cast all have a real appetite for it. I’m there for it. So, I’m really hoping it happens.”

11/20/2008 - Maxim - “I think it’s looking very promising,” said Howard. “We’re still just lacking that one thing we need: a script.”

Alia Shawkat - 5/2008 - Radar - “I think it's happening. I don't want to be the one who says too much though ... I got a call from Mitchell Hurwitz, the creator, and he said "so have you heard about this movie we're supposedly doing?" and I said yes. And he said he was in and it was great. And Jason [Bateman], when he was doing all the Juno press, he basically just talked up [Arrested Development] the movie. He got the publicity going before anything was real. So Mitch talked to Ron Howard, who said he would direct it, and he's down. So I think Mitch was like, "I guess I'll write it then," and that's what I think he's doing now. And yes, I'm involved. I think everyone is.”

Jessica Walter - 12/3/2008 - New York Post - “[Leaving 90210] allows me to move on to the "Arrested Development" movie, which is so exciting now that it's official! They called me and asked if I was on board. It was like "duh!" No question whatsoever. ” (Thank, smeddy.)

10/26/2008 - Los Angeles Times - [Asked if the movie is allegedly happening and if there are contracts] “Allegedly! I don't think anybody's had a contract. But we're all hoping it happens. I've heard rumors... Honestly, the most I know is what I hear from the other cast members, which is that everyone's hoping it comes together -- and that Mitch [Hurwitz] does have a story line. And that [incessant beeping] means I have a message on my phone. Does that bother you?”

Michael Cera - 8/2008 - National Post (Canada) - “I don’t think I would want to see a movie of the series if I was a fan, anyway,” Michael told the National Post in August. “And I don’t really see a need for it if you can get the three seasons on DVD.”
