To be honest it was hard to tell, he was delivering one line. And he looked awful, like take the last IMDB picture you can find of will arnett add 10 pounds and 10 years and you have what he looked like on wednesday.
I would assume he was playing gob, he was in the audience of some play that we weren't actually watching. Granted that scene makes it into the film, im going to appear like 14 different places in the audience.. haha

I was an extra as well. This is 100% true, I was actually sitting almost directly behind Will Arnett in the scene mentioned above. And I agree, he did not look his best, I had to look twice to make sure it was actually him
Also - David Cross just did an interview with MTV movies. Some things he said:
“I think they’re just working out the deals — which, you got eleven cast members and writers and producers and all that — so I think that’ll take a little time, as it usually does. And hopefully we’ll be shooting something before the decade’s out.” There isn’t a whole lot left to this decade; if we’re sharing in Cross’s hopefulness, we could see the shoot begin no later than the end of next year. Probably sooner. If all goes as planned, of course.
