"Arrested Development movie plans close to completion?&

Sounds like some more speculation from World Entertainment News Network

Plans for a movie adaptation of the hit series Arrested Development are getting closer to completion, after a number of meetings with the show's key figures.

Arrested Development star Jason Bateman met with series creator Mitch Hurwitz over the weekend, further fueling speculation the film version of the show is in the pipeline.

Earlier this year, Michael Cera, Bateman's co-star, insisted he would be keen to sign up for an Arrested Development movie if it ever came to fruition.

Promising speculation, but speculation none the less. First of all, "World Entertainment News Network" sounds made-up. Second, all it really says is that people involved in the show have spoken to each other. For all we know, they were exchanging Christmas gifts.

But still, maeby a movie...
Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: "Mankind". Basically, it's made up of two separate words- "mank" and "ind". What do these words mean? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind.

I'm sorry, that was horribly inappropriate.

But still, maeby a movie...

If Ron Howard gives you a Christmas gift, you take, no matter what your religion. But maybe they were exchanging Hannukah gifts. Or Festivus gifts.

Or maybe they were talking about an Arrested Development movie.

My point was that we don't really know, that the article is purely speculation and doesn't actually tell us anything. But I think byron's right. Even if they weren't talking about an AD movie at all, it's still a good sign that they're all getting together and talking. Who knows? Maybe they were just hanging out and it came up and now they've decided to do it.

G.O.B.: Smooth, Michael... like her father’s head, chest, arms, legs and ass.

Michael: What are you talking about?

G.O.B.: He’s hairless, Michael. It’s a condition. And I hate the guy, but at least he’s got bleep. Satiny and smooth, probably.

“[During the strike] you’re allowed to write things you’re not being paid to do,” Bateman explained, revealing almost as much as a never-nude. “I’m trying to talk [Hurwitz] into writing the ‘Arrested Development’ movie. And he could be coming around.”

Bateman?? More like Bat[e]man! Awesome.

ETA: Man, I either need a lot more or a lot less coffee.

I've tried so hard not to get hopeful about this, but it's getting hard. Also "revealing almost as much as a never-nude"? So he's not revealing anything? Misuse of simile!

Not to burst people's joy bubbles here, but really, this article means absolutely nothing. Essentially, this is the information that the article is summing up:

*Bateman calls Hurwitz*
Jason: Hey Mitch, you know with the writer's strike going on and all, I think this would be a good opportunity for you to write the Arrested Development movie.
Mitch: Yeah, I'll think about it.
*hangs up*

The movie in actuality, is no farther along than when the show was canceled.

Well, still... being talked about. So not like when it was cancelled, but even a glimmer of optimism is still considerably more than there was about six months ago.

No, it wasn't a shift. I've shifted. This was a move.

(And hey, this episode was on last night! What are the odds.)
