Frightened Inmate #2--I love Christopher Buckley's books. Thank You for Smoking is one of my favorites. Also a huge PJ O'Rourke fan. I'd also like to add a nod to my favorite writers of the Florida-people-are-crazy books, Carl Hiaasen and Tim Dorsey. Finally, "Confederacy of Dunces" is my all-time favorite...so funny.

I'm wondering if I should add in one of Tobias' quotes that imply that he's gay. (since there are so many people who seem to think Lupin and Sirius are!)

Lol, I'll admit I'm one of those people :D. That would be really funny though.

One of my favorite writers is David Sedaris. He writes humor stories based on his own hilarious life. I think the humor in them might appeal to fans of Arrested Development -- at least, my dad and my best friend, my two fellow AD-lovers, also love David Sedaris as well. :D

How could one not love David Sedaris? Oh, the delicious bitterness. The crazed family. The Santaland Diaries. Sigh.

Sedaris is definitely a winner - AD fans will love him.

Also, try "A walk in the Woods" by Bill someone or other. It's a very funny account of an attempt to walk the Appalachian trail. The humor is dry and witty, and you can read the book in a day. Highly recommended.

Personal Favs are heavily Utopias/Dystopias:

Riddley Walker (Top 5 all-time)
Brave New World
1984
Siddhartha
Metamorphosis
A Clockwork Orange
The Gunslinger (& the whole Dark Tower Series - But Gunslinger specifically)
Foundation series (hard to go wrong with any Asimov)
Neuromancer
The Art of War
Backward Down the Path
Invisible Man (R. Ellison)

Holy crap, someone else that read A Walk in the Woods. It was rather entertaining; although i read it walking around my pathmark (area supermarket) parking lot working (i push carts). Made me want to actually go walk the trail because of how much I walk on a daily basis.

Also, Chuck Palahniuk is a really good writer. The book of fight club is sooooo much better than the movie. Survivor is one of my favorite books ever about the survivor of a heavens gate kinda cult that becomes a religeous celebrity. Hmm what else has he done; Diary was really good i actually have a quote from it I wrote down cause I thought it was funny.

"Just for the record waking up on drugs with your pubic hair shaved and something plastic stuck in your vagina doesn't nescessarily make you a real artist."
-Chuck-

He's written more I just suck at getting around to stuff. http://www.chuckpalahniuk.net/ is his site if anyone wants a look around, he's very detailed with his writing.

Bill Bryson wrote "A Walk in the Woods." I haven't read that one yet, but I enjoyed one of his more obscure books, "Neither Here Nor There: Travels from Europe." Funny stuff!

I read Invisible Monsters by Palahniuk and loved it, and then I read Fight Club and was like, alright, OK, better than the movie, but both where really good. Im trying to read Diary, but really I want to burn it because I hate it. Ive heard Choke is really good though.

Dairy gets better. No matter where you are through it. It gets better. I liked it merely because you were supposed to be the guy in the coma sealing all the peoples summer homes' rooms. It was quirky enough to sound like something I would do. :D

Choke is really good. One of Palahniuk best books is Lullaby, though. I myself am currently reading All Families are Psychotic by Douglas Coupland. Makes for a good chuckle every now and then.

I haven't read any good books lately. But I did have the joyous opportunity to read Election over the summer.

I'm writing down some of these authors so I can check them out over Spring Break. ("Spring break! WHOOO! Up here, Michael! Up here!") I need some laughy books before I delve into AP English summer reading.
