Ideas for things you can do to yourself

Guerilla marketing

Postby editor » February 11th, 2005, 5:41 pm

Some people have mentioned ideas about leaving the banana stressballs so that people would find it.

It seems to be that there are lots of "guerilla marketing" techniques that should be available.

- Stickers! Really easy and cheap to print, and you could stick them on lots of surfaces. Con: they'd me small, and hard to get a message on.

- Postcards, bookmarks, post-it notes: Various paper products that could be 'accidentally' left places. On public benches, the subway, inside library books, etc.

What do people think?

Anybody got a link to a place where I could print some stickers.

To make a long story not so short theres this cool thing for college kids called www.thefacebook.com

It lets you register and put in your classes, reconnect with people fomr high school and add buddies from your school. It's like a connection web. Well you can make groups on it.
I'm in charge of the University of Kentuckys group called "Arrested Development Aficionado" There's a group at a bunch of different schools. I could easily contact them, send them some stickers fro their group and campaign o a few campuses. Working on an article for the school paper too, but stickers would be cool. Maybe inserts in the paper even.

There's a AD facebook group at my school too but they're all a bunch of douche bags. I messageg all of them about the guillotine above AD's neck and none of the little candy asses did anything about it. And there are 77 people in the group. None of them are true fans in my opinion.

yeah there are only five people in my AD group at college. i dion't think any of them are concerned about hte fate of the show.

i guess they're just posers.
GOB: Wow, it won't be easy to win a race against myself. Of course, if anyone can do it, I can.

Hehe. I message'd mine and there all gung-ho about it.
Oh well, was just a thought. I'm thinking of just doing an article for the newpaper, thats all anyone does in class. Once I get it all typed up I'll post it here for suggestions, if it hits print then seriously half the kids that have lecture classes will read it. Maybe start watching the show.

I just messaged my school's facebook AD club. I haven't heard back yet though (maybe I should go check). It would be awesome if we could organize something to try to raise awareness on campus.

Here are the bookmarks I made:

Image

They ain't nothing special. I just set the resolution to 1.5 x 5 inches, plastered on the AD "logo", wrote the usual "The funniest show on Television!" crap, and printed quite a few out on photo paper. But if anyone wants me to send them the file feel free to ask.

Book marks is a good idea.
I might be able to make a whole bunch in the materials engineering basement. I could go to the library and put them in tons of books...

You go, Cannonballism! Any way to tell which books actually get checked out frequently?

I've posted save AD stuff on my company's Web site :)

What about having AD house parties, like the Howard Dean house parties? Are there any AD groups on Meetup.com? I'd start one but I don't live in a city.
