Why, Tracy? Why?

Postby littlesquish89 » August 20th, 2005, 12:50 am

I like the running joke in this one, how everybody seems to kick people out by saying "I don't know why, but that's it."

This may have been addressed already, but I'm too lazy to go back and see if it was (much like Lindsay in this eppy being too lazy to slap Michael, but that's moot), but was that Gary who was videotaping GOB's "Tricks Around The Office"?

Yes it was. I wasn't sure at first, but after getting a good look at him, I knew it was him. I also double checked here, and it is him. I know what you mean being too lazy to read throught these, because theres like 15 pages per episode. Nice avatar & signature btw Canadian Tac.

I can't believe I hadn't noticed that was Gary. Brilliant.
I've switched usernames and am now 'Goofeth', so don't get confused.

Yeah, I noticed Gary videotaping GOB. I was going to post it, but CanadianTac beat me to it. Oh yeah, I blushed too when Stardork complemented me on my RATM avatar and it's just an album cover. Hearing that from a professional avatar/banner maker...I'm squealing like a girl right now.

They sure do. Squealing is the essence of "great" thinking. Anyways, this is a great episode. Tony Hale's performance was immaculate. He landed the imitations of Star Wars and Chicago perfectly. So did Michael Cera with SW.

Yeah, both "Star Wars" imitations were hilarious. And Tony/Buster doing "Chicago" was so awesome! So hilarious...

After last night I have a new theory that the "mystery Bluth" that George Sr was talking to is actually Tracy.
They imply in the show that she wasnt a looker, so either she was quite butch, or she had a sex change
It is believed that AIDS was originally contracted from the monkeys, no not the band, but the animal. And we just wanted to deal with that issue. Just changing the attitude from 'eww AIDSy' to make it like 'ahh fun monkey disease'

"I'm making a magic video. I'm going to tape myself doing tricks around the office. I'm calling it tricks -- let me finish -- around the office."

Season 1 , Episode 1:

"Illusions, Michael. A trick is something a whore does for money."

What's with the contradiction?

It can all be explained with 4 simple words: Gob is an idiot.

Not to mention the fact that Gob's "Office magic" was much simpler than the Aztec Tomb, hence why he'd hold the latter in higher regard than his usual tricks. Another explanation is that due to Gob's departure from magic for most of Season 2, he might have just forgotten all about his magic principles.

Also, I think the mystery Bluth is Oscar. It WOULD explain why the lamp shade is covering his head - since they obviously can't have George Sr. and Oscar in the same shot. Not to mention that George Sr. mentions in Missing Kitty that Oscar used to work for him, so they were somewhat close at some point in the past... It might've been Oscar filming it, too. Would've explained why he was watching it with them.

i think for some reason, it's okay for GOB to call them tricks, but he takes offense when others use that term. this was brought up earlier, i dunno where.

the mystery bluth is definitely very masculine looking.
GOB: Wow, it won't be easy to win a race against myself. Of course, if anyone can do it, I can.

I thought the joke was that Tobias and Gob weren't doing things any worse than their usual behavior, but for whatever reason, Lindsay and Michael (who think alike) finally just got fed up with it.

It could also be a sly dig at the episode order reduction. Maybe there would have been more than led to that, but the writers couldn't get to it, so they made a joke about it.

I have a really quick question... What exactly are stirrer pants? Lucille talks about them with Buster after she catches him with Lupe, and I have no idea what they are...
George Michael: Yeah, I’m gonna need a leather jacket for when I’m on my hog and need to go into a controlled slide.
