Theres a running joke that George has had lots of affairs. And I'm guessing George bought Lucille a piece of jewellery every time he was caught, to apologise. Lindsay thought she deserved the broach for the time when he was caught with the au pair. I think, anyway

Uh... that's not quite it. An au pair is typically a foreigner from a developed country who comes and live with a wealthy family and takes care of the children. They typically do all the jobs of parenting, such as laundry. Typically the children are close to their au pair but this line shows that, in typical Bluth style, Lyndsey had absolutley no respect for the au pair.
Hope that helps. I think the line is hiliarious. It really shows that Lyndsey has never cared about people, even when she was young.
