Zach Braff wants Dr. Tobias Funke on Scrubs

Zach Braff Talks Scrubs and Fletch
....As far as guest appearances go, Braff is really hoping to get a former "Arrested Development" character on.

"The one person I want right now is David Cross. I wanted David Cross to come on as Tobias Funke. I'm trying to broker that deal, with Mitch's (Mitchell Hurwitz) approval. I want David to come on as Tobias… I love that character, and the fact that character is over for good, I want him to at least have one more little life."

Question: Would Mitch be brought in to write the part for Tobias?

When characters from canceled shows pop up for random guest appearances, people somehow delude themselves into thinking that the appearances will actually be funny. But this sounds hilarious.

I doubt that Mitch would be involved beyond giving consent, but I also doubt that what he'd do would be at all relevant to his story or the overall plot. It'd be like when Urkel visited the family from Step By Step. Nobody would mention it ever again.

Oh no, it never works. But it just might work here. Let the great experiment begin!

Question: Will Dr. Funke find Zach oddly familiar? Perhaps he resembles a nevernude he once met.

It'd be great if he could become a regular. Then maybe NBC could create a spin-off show centered around Dr. Funke and the daily goings on with his rebellious daughter, his materialistic wife and her dysfunctional family. Why, I even have a great name for the show. We could call it (wait for it) "After Scrubs." Because it'll be on after Scrubs.

I think this really does have a lot of potential--Tobias and The Todd in the same scenes? JD and Turk's "relationship" would also probably excite Tobias. I hope this comes to fruition, but I don't know how Tobias could go from lazy actor want-to-be to visiting Psychological Analrapist.

Perhaps he's researching a role to play the part of a doctor. Which would be funny since he is a doctor already and shouldn't need to do much research.

I'm probably the only one here who doesn't want an AD character on a show with "stoner humour"(his words not mine).
I talk all confusing like.

If this happens and we don't see cut-offs, i'm going to be upset. Doesn't Scrubs kind of suck now though? I saw the episode Bateman did, and it was awful. Oh, and I hate Zack Braff.

But I'd still watch.

I enjoyed the Bateman ep and I have no strong feelings for or against Braff but I am a little sick of Scrubs at this stage.

However this would be awesome

Not quite as good as it once was but Scrubs is still probably my favorite sitcom on tv today. Although, I doubt David Cross will allow himself to be roped into the role again for a quick guest appearance. He seems to take it pretty seriously.
