i go as the same bloodcurling monster every year... the looks i get from people as i walk with my daughter down the streets of central ohio are looks of sheer horror and disgust. and the costume is so simple. what is this monster of unspeakable misery?

a michigan football fan.

and it does make trick or treating in columbus during football season a little more scary.

go bucks.

Gotta give props to a guy that pulls off a Wilfred Brimley costume. And from your photos, it looks like Wilfred's popular with some of the lay-dees. Maybe next year, go as Walter Matthau.

At the last minute (no time or energy to make a Debbie Harry costume, and my Pam Beesley shirt actually looks good on me) I dressed up as...

BUSTER!

I've got a couple of pictures but sadly I couldn't locate the banner that's usually hanging in my building and tear it down. I'll share them soon. It wasn't a fantastic costume, but it made me happy.
Note to self: You are now an Andre Braugher fan.

For Halloween I dressed as Betty White (would have fit in good with Wilfred)
I was supposed to have the whole Golden Girl gang, but everyone backed out on me. Also my best friend was gonna go as Charles Nelson Reilly, but didnt have time to come up with a costume. But heres mine, plus some of my favorite costumes from that party:

My friend Mak (who's one of the biggest bastards I've ever met) dressed as the cutest penguin ever

It is believed that AIDS was originally contracted from the monkeys, no not the band, but the animal. And we just wanted to deal with that issue. Just changing the attitude from 'eww AIDSy' to make it like 'ahh fun monkey disease'

We had a string of about three costume parties in a row - including a London Underground one. Someone came as "Cockfosters". I think we can all work out what that entailed, and see why we locked him outside. But confiscated the Foster's first.

I however, as "High Barnet" came in a 1950's dress, sporting an enormous beehive. Get it, get it??? It's cockney rhyming slang... I rule.

The best one's for sheer effort were "Brent Cross".. they came dressed as Ricky Gervais looking angry, and "St John's Wood", dressed as a saint with a deoderant bottle down his... well, you can guess.

I don't appreciate the dry British humor.

Seriously, though, not getting the "High Barnet" reference. Grandma's old, but she's slow.

That’s what they said on “Ask Jeeves.”

It's a wonderful image, isn't it? (Bear in mind, that as far as I'm concerned, "wonderful" is interchangeable with "terrifying").

Anyway, in rhyming slang, "Barnet" = "Barnet Fair" = "hair". Thusly, High Barnet = one hell of a lot of backcombing.

Anyone know what they're doing for this year?

I might go as Buckethead, but it feels a bit uninspired. Most of my better ideas are ones that not enough people would get (Frank Zappa, Ash Williams from the Evil Dead movies, etc.). I know I can do better than that. Maybe as Leonard Shelby from Memento? All I need for that is a Polaroid camera and a sharpie to write stuff all over my body.

i was thinking of getting a fake hook and an army uniform and going as Buster. Or I could wear long sleeves and long pants and paint my face blue and go as Tobias.
Hey, Mikey, relax. It’s just a giant banana.

Hmm, I don't know what I'm going to go as. Last year I was a pirate. Here's a picture:

I'm the girl. The guy with the bunny ears on the left is my best friend, Simon, who shall shortly be taking over Russia, and the other pirate in the middle is a slag who will one day become one of those politicians who has a lot to hide (Be sure to look out for him all you English members) :D

Well played. This is really bothering me. I need to get somewhat in tune with mainstream culture to come up with a good idea. Only for a little bit, though.

My dream is to go as Morty from Meatballs (above). I know the shirt is available on-line somewhere. I don't know if Mrs. FI#2 is going to be able to go to the Halloween Party this year, but Mr. F I#2 is hopeful that he can go anyway. Fingers crossed!
