Michael Cera signs up to create shorts for CBS site Innertube.

Michael Bluth would be proud.

Michael Cera, who played George Michael Bluth in Fox's cult sitcom Arrested Devlopment, has signed up to create a scripted series for CBS broadband site Innertube. The show, titled The Good Life, will be written and produced by star Cera.

Good Life will be a mockumentary about two TV executives who delude themselves about the quality of their new TV project. CBS has committed to eight episodes.

CBS has been beefing up its Innertube site this month, sending canceled series Smith to finish its run and airing passed-on pilot The Papdits. Good Life is the first original scripted show the network has green-lit for Innertube with a Hollywood-style talent deal attached.

Cera played the son of Jason Bateman's Michael Bluth in Development. The show ran for three seasons, winning Emmys and accolades but never generating high ratings. Fox pulled the plug in Decmeber 2005.

I bet his cousin got him the job.
Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: "Mankind". Basically, it's made up of two separate words- "mank" and "ind". What do these words mean? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind.

Him and Clark were supposed to put The Good Life up on MySpace, but it never happened. I can't wait... It's also the title of my favourite Weezer song.

So... Is this Innertube stuff available to watch internationally? Because a lot of the BBC online content is only viewable within the UK. But it might be something to do with the licence fee... Eh, I'm sure there was one Canadian website that wouldn't let me watch stuff *shakes fist at Canada* (I'm not shaking my fist at you though, Cera, you're a nice Canadian).

Hey braindroppings,

Great find on the IMdb page... looks like they renamed the project from "Good Life" to "Clark and Michael." Did you happen to notice that one Mitchell Hurwitz is also listed in the cast?

Wow. The cast looks bleeping awesome.

Clark&Michael of course, David Cross, Patton Oswalt (weren't you guy's talking about how funny he is?), Tony Hale, John Francis Daley (Freaks & Geeks FTW), Mitchell Hurwitz, Tim Heidecker, Eric Wareheim. Damn, Michael Cera has some great connections.

I recommend that anyone who uses myspace to check on there site, myspace.com/clarkandmichael, there are lot of funny sketches, and if you add them as a friend (or Michael Cera) then they will send you bulletins about a new video and so on.

If the show is anything like his Clark & Michael videos or the "Impossible is the Opposite of Possible" video he had on YouTube, I will be extremely happy. Heck, even if it's not that funny, I'll still be happy to see an old AD alum doing something.
