Seriously? The U.S. and Britain rank below, say, Bangladesh or Haiti, for kids to live? What the heck was the criteria? "Kids aren't given the privilege of experiencing a culture where common ailments can be fatal."

Oops! I should have probably mentioned that it was out of developed 'industrialised' countries and the study was carried out by Unicef.

I was flying home from Miami on Jet Blue last year when a Little Britain marathon came on BBC America.

I decided to watch tennis on ESPN 2 instead.

1st series was actually quite funny. I loved Matt Lucas from shooting stars, so when Little Britain started I enjoyed it. Then the 2nd series made the mistake of completely exhausting and re-using catchphrases and jokes that were only mildy amusing the 1st time you heard them.

The 3rd series I refuse to discuss ever again, because I get embarassed just thinking about. That also goes for the Live stage show, the computer game, the special edition DVDs, the life-like dolls, the t-shirts, the mugs, the keyrings, the mousemats, the audio cds, the...

i second everything you said (without a clause of silence). I watched the first season cos it was different at the time.

The second season was awful. i mean that 'thing' that won't leave the beauty spa - wtf was that?! And matt lucas doesn't even need a fat suit. Its shameless how they stick their name on anything...who would want to buy a Little Britain toilet cleaner?? (on second thoughts that might work for me)

Also that woman that kept puking when a black/chinese/asian/anything-foreign name was mentioned...yawn! Anyway im enjoying the mutual hate for LB guys. I would choose the tennis anyday..

I got a new cellphone recently, and my ringtone is Gob singing "Love is in the air" 10... 12. It's recorded, so the sound quality is absolutely horrible. But if that means missing some calls that isn't a big deal... since my voice mail message is George Costanza singing, "Believe it or not, George isn't at home. Please leave a message at the beep. I must be out, or I'd pick up the phone. Where could I be? Believe it or not, I'm not home."

Reminds me of Oedipus. Or Equus. Did anyone read Equus? I had to for english, as in find it ourselves because my teacher is crazy and must find pleasure in the fact that it was impossible to get and Borders told me it was out of print.

I had to read Oedipus for 3 classes one year and they all used a different translation, so I had to actually read it 3 times.

Well, last weekend I was subjected to the horror of the Sunday Times' Culture page cover. Daniel Radcliffe... chest hair...

He's doing Equus in London. And this means I am subjected to his naked form everytime I get on the Tube. Or look at the tv listings in the Culture page.

The pain! The unbelievable mental pain! I just hope he's not a method actor.

I wouldn't recommend reading Equus. It was pretty disturbing. And it made for some very uncomfortable class discussions in english. I'll never think about a horse the same way again.

I heard about it being performed in London. That is some unbelievable mental pain. If I had to see that play, acted out, by Daniel Radcliffe, I might have to gouge out my eyes.
