So last year there was a campaign to get Fox to renew the show for a third season, and they did. More recently there was a campaign to get the show picked up by another network, and ABC and Showtime made offers. Coincidence? Well, maybe, but it can't hurt!
Why don't we start another campaign, this one directed at the show itself, to convince them that they should continue on? Mitch has until June 15th to make a decision so that gives us plenty of time to do something.
Here are some ideas I've come up with or seen mentioned in other threads:
1. We pick a day to send Mitch letters telling him how much we love his work & how much we would like to see the show continue. We could also send letters to the cast members, writers, etc., they don't have the final say but I think it would be nice to let them know how much their work is appreciated.
2. Some sort of grand "Fans Love Mitch" gesture. A billboard, a magazine ad, a website, something that would be simple but attention-getting that would get our point across.
3. We pick a day and encourage people to buy AD DVDs, or just encourage people to buy them in general before June 15th. You could stock up and give them as birthday or Christmas gifts.
4. Write Kristin at E! Online and ask for help/advice/ideas. She loves the show and seems to have some connections so maybe she could help us out in some way.
I can't stress enough though, that this should be a very positive campaign. I definitely don't support anyone being mean or disrespectful to Mitch, I just think that we should let him know that we would be sad if he didn't continue, but that we understand it's his decision and we would support him either way - even if he doesn't go on, he's given us 3 seasons of the best TV show ever and we should let him know how much we appreciate what he's done.
Would anybody be up for something like this? Suggestions?
