Seriously, why did they sabotage that plotline that way? Absolutely no payoff.

This show is still really uneven to me... but the Baldwin therapy scene was funny. Who knew he had this in him!

I liked the ending of the page-off. It was kind of like the Colonel coming into a Monty Python sketch when things got too silly to really go anywhere. I'm sure we haven't seen the last of Kenneth's feud, though. The guy playing the head page was fantastic.

I don't think anyone ever expected that Alec Baldwin could do a dead-on Redd Foxx. Or a dead-on Tracy Morgan, for that matter.

Wow. I just got the first disc of the season 1 DVD in the mail, and damn. it. 30 Rock is funny. Easily the best comedy since Arrested. I think I watched the first 4 episodes, and couldn't stop laughing.

I did enjoy the Arrested-style callbacks, like Tracy's old movies, and other little things like Liz being mistaken as a lesbian (a well-done story line without being too over the top). Characters that seemed annoying from only watching season 2 were funny, like Tracy pretending to be illiterate, and Kenneth playing against Jack's hyper-competitive nature in the poker game. Jack and the product placement story was well done. I see what you were saying, the writers add a lot to the show too.

BTW, I think the Emmy win was what finally got me to check out this show. No one I know ever talked about 30 Rock. I fear this show is following Arrested's path a little too closely though...

Oh, about the page-off, see that's exactly why I didn't like it: it seemed like the writers didn't know where to go, and just abruptly ended it. I would rather that either (a) they embrace the absurdity and go over the top, or (b) humorously undercut the climax and build-up by making the page-off turn out to be something absurdly banal.

I'm glad you enjoyed the first season editor. This one supposedly gets better some are hit or miss, but it's a majority of hits.

Yes, it's pretty much solid throughout, though it does miss on occasion. I will say that you'll never think of Cleveland the same way ever again.

One of my favorite songs ever.

I'm a music dork and I know a lot of people say the music seems out of place but I really like the music in this story.

It drives the story for me like the narrator does in Pushing Daisies.

No 30 rock this week

but I'm very excited for next week.
A [spoiler]eco-friendly NBC mascot[/spoiler] being a GE-Aviation employee I laugh at the six sigma and GE jokes but this one may be the best.

I'm going to go ahead and say that last night's episode was the best episode of this show so far. Absolutely hysterical. 30 Rock absolutely ran away with "Green Week". Even Schwimmer and Al Gore were funny!

Odd, but both 30 Rock and The Office had weird, absolutely hilarious party montages. I take it you liked it Vcalzone? :wink:

I wish I hadn't seen the promo for 30 Rock, they totally gave away Al Gore.

I feel like I need to end on a happier emoticon, so I'll say the episode kicked ass.

Gris and Dot Com need to do a road movie.

That wasn't the best quote from this episode, but it was certainly the one that made me laugh the hardest. :lol:

I absolutely loved this episode, especially how they showed the effects of Kenneth's party on those involved with flashbacks to the party from the previous night. That whole sequence was easily the funniest thing I've seen on TV in weeks.

The only thing I didn't like was David Schwimmer's guest role. He seemed like he was trying too hard and came off as more annoying than comical, in my opinion. Other than that the episode was great.

I think this show is at it's best when all the characters are featured, not just Liz/Jack/Tracy or even Kenneth. That's what was so great about this one and what bugged me about the first few of the season.

I'm convinced that the tragectory of quality this season is the same as last season. Good pilot (premiere), stronger second episode, with each episode seeming like an improvement over the last. Liz's conflict between her supposed left-leanings and her genuine new yorker fear has been a great contradiction in her character and I love how they handled that in this episode.

Speaking of which, I could watch Tracy talk to a pigeon for hours.

Excellent. The resolution to Liz's storyline was hilarious, and the Jack/Tracy story could have just been the one joke Iraq-parallel, but it turned out to be so much more. Also Frank's and Jenna's stories were funny and well handeled. Four great story threads in one episode...wow.
