30 Rock

There are shows other than Arrested Development? Really?

Postby Dr. Fünke » July 24th, 2008, 12:12 am

After blindly purchasing the season one DVD for cheap a few months back, I actually had time to watch this show. After getting through the first eight episodes, I can safely say this show is awesome. I didn't think I'd like Alec Baldwin in this, but I love him now. Too many laugh out loud moments to recall, but I've noticed a lot of Arrested Developmentish comedy, which of course is always welcome.

The Season 3 premiere is being put up a week early on Hulu tomorrow(if you're in the US).

I'm not in the US so I watched it somewhere else. I tried to hold out for the 30th but I'm weak. Excellent, excellent, excellent episode.

Great episode. Can't wait to see the rest of the season.

30 Rock hit its stride somewhere towards the end of Season 1 and has just been spectacular ever since. The Season 3 premiere was no exception. Very, very happy to have it back. :)

I do agree that it was a great episode, but that's not saying much because I can't think of an episode of 30 Rock that wasn't great.

The premiere was good, but I felt it was a little to fast paced. I hope this was due to all of the loose ends from season two that needed to be addressed. It seems the show needed to be 5 or 6 minutes more to keep in going steady. But the writing was good and I'll be looking forward to new episodes each week. Hopefully all the emmy nom's will make NBC hold on to this for a few more seasons.

Yea, I can't wait to see if the rating jumped up a bit because of her Sarah Palin impression, I really hope so or it would have been a month really wasted

'30 Rock' Rolls To Series High

CBS racked up another Thursday-night ratings win, but NBC's "30 Rock" grabbed its biggest audience ever following Tina Fey's star turn as Sarah Palin on " Saturday Night Live."

CBS led the night with a 9.0 rating/14 share, beating out ABC's 7.1/11. NBC came in third with a 4.9/8. FOX took fourth with a 2.5/4, edging The CW's 2.4/4 (the two finished virtually tied in total viewers.

The adults 18-49 race was closer, but CBS' 3.9 rating still won the night, topping ABC's 3.6 and NBC's 3.4. FOX and The CW tied for fourth at 1.6.

I bought season 1 recently on DVD as a blind buy and I'm about half way through the season. It's got some annoyingly unfunny moments and some jokes fall so flat but in general it seems pretty cool. A lot of people say series 2 is much better, is this true? I think I'll end up getting into it.

I thought season 2 was much better. But I also thought season 1 was great. So, take it as you will.

Caught up with the first three episodes of the new season. Nice to have it back, probably the best comedy in the AD style. That said, I'm not fond of the stunt casting here. Didn't like it in AD either.

Am I crazy in thinking 'Mir Vodka' was a reference to our very own Cloud Mir?

Can we just give this show the dubious honor of "Best Show Post-AD Currently On TV" Its so funny every week, and it hasn't jumped the shark yet.

No, you're not crazy. I thought the same thing.

Gotta agree about the stunt casting. Was not a fan of the Oprah episode...Last week's (w/Jennifer Aniston) was better, the Night Court-plot was done really well, I thought, but between that and Aniston, it didn't seem like there was room for any of the other characters. i don't know, just a minor complaint.

it is sweeps, right?
