FOX press release: Season 3 is a go!

Stop stressing out and squeezing your banana ball (also, despite what he says, I think Trading Spouses is the first pick-up since taking the job):

From thefutoncritic.com:

FOX DOES MORE TIME WITH "ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT," ORDERING A FULL THIRD SEASON

FOX gets ARRESTED again. The network has ordered a third full season of the Emmy Award-winning comedy series ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT, it was announced today by Peter Liguori, President, Entertainment for Fox Broadcasting Company.

"ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT is one of the best comedies on television. The decision to order another season becomes easy when you consider its amazing cast, creative brilliance, critical acclaim and advertiser appeal," said Liguori. "It's my first official pick-up since taking the job, and I think it's a great way to start."

The critically acclaimed series revolves around Michael Bluth (Jason Bateman), the good son who must run the family business and continue to pick up the pieces as he keeps his offbeat family from falling apart. The comedy has featured guest appearances by numerous stars including Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Liza Minnelli, Heather Graham and Ben Stiller. Last year, the show received five Emmy Awards for Outstanding Comedy Series, Writing, Directing, Casting and Editing. Additionally, Jason Bateman won a Golden Globe for Outstanding Actor in a Leading Role - Musical or Comedy Series and the show was nominated for two Golden Globe Awards for Outstanding Musical or Comedy Series. This past season, the cast was nominated for a SAG Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series. The show was also named an AFI Program of the Year and received the Critics' Choice Award for Best Comedy, among other accolades.

ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT is produced by Imagine Television and 20th Century Fox Television. Ron Howard, Brian Grazer, David Nevins and Mitch Hurwitz are executive producers.

Is this real? Are you messing with me? Cuz if you're messing with me I might cry.

That is what I've been waiting to hear. If it's true, I would like to share Kiarnit's sentiments.

Just wanted to give a shout-out to Kiarnit and the O.P. Editor for their tremendous effort and dedication all of these months. Thank you for keeping us so well-updated and for letting our voices be heard by the powers that be. Here's to a fantastic Season 3!

I also would like to share Kiarnit's sentiments.

Given how my star-crossed Cubs have bumbled through the first six weeks of their season, this is the best news I've heard in a long, long time.

Now, the countdown til the Season 2 DVD set.

Man, today's been a great day.

Finally got confirmation of Season 3, which in and of itself would've been fantastic... then my Season 1 DVDs came in the mail! Getting the Express Shipping was so worth it...

Vodka martinis, all around!

Ditto.

1) Arrested Development has officially been renewed.

2) My sister finally got her job offer for the job she really wants at a museum in Houston.

3) I have made plans to go to London with a fellow Arrested Development fan in mid-June.

If I can just finish my current sucky project at work by the end of the month, I will just be beside myself with happiness. Vodka martinis all around indeed.

I am BEYOND HAPPY!!!! I've been scepticle everytime I saw an article saying there was a good chance it was returning, but I knew the happiness would really come through when I heard it from FOX itself, and now I have some serious (and earlier promissed) nut kissing to do.
Now, if you will excuse me...
It is believed that AIDS was originally contracted from the monkeys, no not the band, but the animal. And we just wanted to deal with that issue. Just changing the attitude from 'eww AIDSy' to make it like 'ahh fun monkey disease'

So I offered to have Peter Liguori's babies if AD was renewed... I hope he doesn't follow through on that promise.

I received my Mr. Bananagrabber tshirt yesterday, and get this news today- it just doesn't get any better than this!

Huzzah!!

I have to write my spiritual autobiography for my world religions class (I'm supposed to be doing so right now, as a matter of fact) and I think I shall say: "My belief in the power of prayer was restored when Fox renewed the best show on television, Arrested Development." That was a big get for God.

Ad gets renewed on the day that I get to go see my Red Soxs defeat the As. This has got to be one of the best days ever!
