Ideas for things you can do to yourself

Contact People in the Media

Postby editor » February 11th, 2005, 7:55 am

Someone in another topic mentioned contacting Kristin from E Online. Are there other people that should be contacted?

I found on the internets that Angel fans sent thousands of postcards to Michael Schneider at Variety. The kicker is that his blog entry reads: "I've been busy waging my own "Renew 'Arrested Development'" campaign..."

Good idea... also, I think there are some people at TV Guide who are big fans of the show.. I'll do some research to get some specific names.

Found this at TV Guide online:

DEVELOPMENT ISSUES: Rumors are swirling that Fox has cut short Arrested Development's season, trimming its episode order from 20 to 18 to make room for American Dad in May. Not so, says a source close to the show. "Nothing's definite," maintains the insider. "There's two more weeks before [the network] has to make a final decision [on how many episodes it wants]. In either case, it's not canceled." Someone may want to tell that to costar David Cross, who got his short-shorts in a bunch on Wednesday's Jimmy Kimmel Live. "They're saying it's not canceled," he said. "They're just saying we're not doing any more now. It's a bummer." In related news, I hope Gail Berman likes frozen bananas, because there's about 8 million of 'em coming her way!

more ideas

Postby mrs.michaelbluth » February 17th, 2005, 11:26 pm

I couldnt remember if I posted this on this site or the FOX site. Today I sent letters to all the media outlets that had messages in bright markers on the back with the time and day arrested was on. Hopefully someone will be curious and check it out. Then I made homemade post cards out of blank index cards. I colored them and painted them with slogans like, America loves the bluths, save arrested development and there is always money in the banana stand on them. I sent those to all media outlets and a letter to Oprah and People Mag. I know its not much but, i think its a cheap and easy Idea for all. Plus postcard stamps are CHEAP!
TRY IT, let your voice be heard, flood everyone with letters and post cards!
Shows like Arrested Development are just like any other children in Hollywood—they’re loved until they fail to perform to expectations, and then they’re drowned in the swimming pool for not being as good as their dumb (but pretty!) brothers and sisters

LOL. Oprah. Good idea.

I was thinking of sending a DVD to Bill Gates. Because if you could get him to like the show, he could sponser the entire show (without even making a dent in his bank account).

Thanks for the extra contact info, mrs.michaelbluth. I've updated the original post.

By the way, Fox contacts are in a separate thread, and you should not contact Yvette Urbina. She has no relationship with the show.

I think our best shot would be begging Entertainment Weekly to do a cover story. They always have such creative and good looking covers just imagine what they could do with even half this cast(not all of them would fit well to give them a decent amount of space)....I know they did this for Ocean's 12....they split the cast in half for two different covers. 2 different AD covers would send our lot of Cornballers into a panic....they would sell tons of copies on the newsstands.

Im writing them about this idea now.

Conan O'Brien is also a huge fan of the show, it might be a good idea to try and get him to help somehow. I know, the actors go on his show a lot, but obviously that's not exactly doing the job.

Also, I know this doesn't have to do much with talk show hosts, but Zach Braff is going to be on AD in a couple weeks and if we can get those loyal Scrubs/Garden State fans to see that episode and get hooked, it might just do the trick.

Good idea. I know that all of the people I know that are big Scrubs fans are already converted into AD watchers. Yet some of them dont watch it when it is on and just plan on picking up the DVD. I urged one to do so and he told me "well as long as I am not a Nielsen person, it doesn't really matter". Which honestly and sadly is true. So I just urged him that if this was the case to pimp out the show to as many people as he can if he wants to keep buying full seasons on DVD.
