#109: Storming the Castle

I'd need to wait for the Season Two DVD to be sure, but I don't think George-Michael's ever worn shorts since this one....

And that is a shame, since he's got such gorgeous legs.
Yeah, like anyone would want to "R" her.

I heard George Michael was planning on buying a motorcycle.
He's gonna need a leather jacket when he has to go into a controlled slide.

Wow, I just found the funniest thing ever. After Rollo confronts Michael, you see his hands on the top of the window as it rolls up. If you look carefully, he's actually pulling the window up. That's why Michael is staring at him funny. I love this show.

He wears shorts in Best Man for the Gob when at the hotel for the fishing trip. Other than that, I can't think of another time when he's wearing shorts.

oh my god... I feel SO stupid for not catching this sooner... When GOB takes Michael's watch he says "I appreciate your time"! All this time I thought he was being serious.. that he was truely grateful for his brother taking the time to give him some advice.. but it was GOB taking the "time" all along! And there's even a flashback later in the episode and I never caught it!
That's why I love this show though. Because after a dozen viewings there are still new things to catch.

GOB deleted scene

Postby SteveHolt! » July 22nd, 2005, 7:56 pm

One of the deleted scenes on the season 1 DVD from this episode, I think, gives a definative GOB moment:

While drinking what looks like a whisky sour in the children's pizza parlor, GOB is showing a bunch of kids that are gathered around a long table one of his "illusions", which seems like a little card trick. However, instead of doing any tricks, he just starts pulling out the cards and giving each card a name/character that corresponds to his view of his situation with Marta. He then proceeds to draw "the joker" and says, "let's just call this one 'me'", then goes into a very adult-themed explaination of how the sex with "the queen" [marta] is great, but "it always is with the crazy ones". I think he drops the f-bomb at some point, while all these kids just stare at him. Then Michael walks in and pulls him away from the table.

If you have the season 1 DVD, definately check it out. It's really insane, and a true glimpse into how GOB is. It's also very reminiscent of our first look at GOB's magic in the pilot, when he says that is a trick is something a whore does for money...or cocaine. Only this one is much rawer. Check it out. His diabtride is truly insane.

Yeah, it is a great insight into GOB. Will's great in that scene...I also love Michael's line at the end, "I saw Copperfield do that routine on the View this morning."

I kept this in the back of my mind, and George-Michael wore shorts in Top Banana when auditioning for the play. I know it's not afterwards, but I feel happy nontheless.

GM also wears shorts in Best Man for the GOB, while at the hotel.

EDIT: I just found out it's Best Man for the GOB, I don't know why I didn't notice that. Why is there a "the" in there?
