Banana ball gift baskets are shipping to FOX

Postby Kiarnit » April 11th, 2005, 4:45 am

The banana ball gift baskets are shipping out to FOX President Peter Liguori on Monday morning. They should arrive on Thursday, April 14th. The packages have tracking numbers and all that good stuff, so we'll know when they get there.

You can see pictures of the gift baskets and some of their stickers and contents in the Gift Basket section of the Graphical Resources Gallery. I'll be cropping some of the pictures very soon when I have a little more time.

At final count, we had over 170 handwritten letters and about 15 e-mail letters (which I printed out) for the gift baskets. The two baskets themselves were about 2ft. long by 18" wide by 18" high, and both brimming with banana balls and your letters. They looked very nice, if I do say so myself.

Special thanks to my sister, without whose help last weekend I never would have gotten done assembling the baskets, and to my housemate who helped with assembly and finding addresses of media contacts to send press releases to. Thanks to MartaTwo, SGMagicMan, and cabbagebooty for running down media addresses for me. Thanks to mrs.michaelbluth for forwarding the e-mail letters to me. And thanks to Rosebud for her help with the press release, which will be starting to go out Monday as well.

ETA: You can read some quotes from the fan letters here- just click on the .pdf file. The file's not big, but there are about 12 pages of quotes.

ETA, 4/19/05: We're having problems serving some files due to the number of hits from people following the Defamer link. I'm willing to respond via e-mail to reasonable numbers of requests to see the .pdf file of quotes from the fan letters. You can reach me at kiarnit@saveourbluths.com.

Wow, those photos are off the hook. What a stunning attention to detail on the baskets!

Thanks to everyone who contributed (monetarily and with their time) and helped make this statement possible! Special thanks to Kiarnit for arranging all of the details of gift baskets! Great GOB, everyone!

Make sure you ring local media if you can, and try and get www.thefutoncritic.com and www.zap2it.com interested in the campaign :)
Maeby: "Do you guys know where I could get one of those gold necklaces with the 'T' on it?"
Michael: "That's a cross."
Maeby: "Across from where?"

Kiarnit- I am just stunned. The baskets are so wonderful- and you put so much time and effort into them. Thank you so, so much- you and editor deserve some kind of medal for this!

Kiarnit, those are so awesome! Thank you for all you've done organzing everything! And thanks for taking so many pictures and even typing out the quotes for us to read. :) I'm positive FOX will be impressed (and if they're not, we can hire a flamer (T-bone) and enjoy the catharic burning of FOX studios).

You are all too kind. However, I will say that assembling those baskets was a BLEEP of a lot of work. Martha Stewart I am not. But when you are a crazy obsessive-compulsive person who needs an intervention ... imposition ... whatever ... it's hard to say, "that's good enough" and be done with it, even when it's 3:30 am and you're trying to come up with something clever to say about stickers with cops and bulldozers on them. Clearly, I need help. Or at least a vodka rocks. With or without a piece of toast.

Thanks! Unfortunately, individually purchased bananas will not ship until Friday or Saturday. I have to work on getting press releases out. Please bear with me here. They will ship 1st class mail, so once they go out, they should arrive pretty fast.
