PROFILE: Lucille Bluth

Lucille Bluth
PLAYED BY: Jessica Walters
EMPLOYED AS: socialite

Lucille is the wife of former Bluth Company president, George, Sr.. Lucille presently resides in the Balboa Towers with her youngest son, Buster.

We take a look at Balboan socialite Lucille Bluth in the second part of our nine-part series profiling Newport Beach’s own Bluth family.

Lucille married then-Bluth Company chairman, George Bluth, Sr., and together they acquired an apartment in the prestigious Balboa Towers. They had four children—G.O.B., twins Michael and Lindsay, and Buster. But marriage did nothing to settle the impetuous Lucille. Allegations persist about her combative ways, including a brawl she allegedly started at family-style restaurant, Klimpy’s, and local hotspot, Rud.

Lucille Bluth lists her occupation as socialite, but there is scant evidence that she is very successful. She is often seen in public feuding with her neighbor, Lucille Austero. Ms. Bluth is rumored to be very unhappy at the relationship between Ms. Austero and Ms. Bluth’s youngest son, Byron. A recent charity bachelorette auction for Save The Wetlands, where Ms. Austero garnered significantly more money than Ms. Bluth, may have further added fuel to that fire.

Ms. Bluth’s ability to hold a compelling party has also come into question. For a recent Valentine’s Day Party held by Ms. Bluth, none of Balboa’s elite were anywhere to be seen. The highest-profile guest may have been C-level celebrity, Carl Weathers, who hasn’t even been in a box office hit since 1988’s Action Jackson.

Attempts to hold surprise birthday parties for Ms. Bluth also proved futile — on two consecutive nights, no one was witnessed to have entered the private dining area where a party was rumored to have been held.

Further adding insult, her driving habits were recently profiled on FOX’s trashy reality show, World’s Worst Drivers.
