Quotes

Lucille: Oh, her comes the 10:15 conniption, right on time. Honest to God, Buster, it’s like every little thing makes you seize up in terror lately. I just have no idea where you get that from. Get away from that stove. You’re going to light your hair on fire.

I know GOB has another "I don’t think so" response in an earlier episode pre-My Mother The Car. Which one was it and what was said? Have there been any other "I don’t think so"’s that I’m forgetting?

Also, isn’t the robe Michael is wearing after the accident the same one he’s wearing at the hospital in The Sword Of Destiny?

He said "I don’t think so" in the pilot when Michael found out Lindsay was in town.

Anyone else see this as season 1’s least best episode? (or 3rd least best as I know the majority here has a problem with Alter Egos/Justice Is Blind). The car accident with Michael losing his memory, George Sr paying off fellow prisoners just so they wouldn’t harrass Lindsay when she visited him, the storylines just seemed the most "out there" of any season 1 episode, and didn’t entirely click as well as the rest.

Still plenty of quality jokes to make this an above average episode. Just suprised I’ve never seen or heard anyone mention this as an episode that was a bit lacking compared to the others.

I have a soft spot for it simply for the performances in it. Jason Bateman doing doped up head trauma was awesome. And GOB’s little eye roll after he says he’s going to South America and realize George Michael is still there is great, too. And Portia di Rossi doesn’t get many chances to be funny on this show, but I thought this episode was definitely one of them.

I wish they had kept the deleted scenes in where the doctor seems more upset about drugging Michael up, and then he eventually loses his license because of it. Definitely one of my least favorite, but the performances were great, and I love how just so Lucille was ready to clock Michael in the head with her little statue thing.

On an unrelated note, Vcalzone, we have the same number of posts!

Great episode but I dont get "3rd/4th Least favorite child" line.

I’m not sure why they did that either - obviously "4th least favorite" would mean "favorite," but they use it to mean the opposite. Chalk it up as a Bluthism.

Isn’t it just to show that Lucille’s coldhearted and doesn’t really like ANY of her children? So they’re all ’least favourites’.

Yes, but she doesn’t just use it negatively, she uses it incorrectly. She calls Michael her "third least favorite," but she means third favorite, or second least favorite. The narrator then calls GOB her "fourth least favorite." This is a little easier to understand. GOB is obviously her first least favorite child, or her fourth favorite. Buster presumably is her favorite, or her "fourth least favorite," not GOB.

That’s why I said it was a Bluthism - she uses the term obviously wrong, especially when applied to GOB.

Yes, I realise that. I’m just explaining my take on the general concept, not the ins and outs of every detail.
