David Cross on Last Call with Carson Daly
David Cross spoke with Carson Daly in a surprisingly funny interview
from Las Vegas
on June 10, 2004. Excerpts follow.

David Cross, Vegas style.
Carson:
Our next guest is, well, funnier
than all of my uncles, including
the one who went to clown
college.
From Arrested Development
and Mr. Show, the one and only
David Cross, everybody.
...
Carson: Yeah, well, is this
like a vacation from Arrested Development?
How’s the show going?
You got picked up for another
season.
Are you still working?
Do you still have a job?
Cross: Yeah, yeah, I mean, after
this airs, maybe not.
I don’t know.
Yeah, yeah.
We just got picked up, and we’re
gonna do another full season.
We’ll be on after
The Simpsons. (Applause.)
Carson: Well, that will be
nice.
Cross: It’s a good show. It’s a great show.
Carson: It is a great show.
It’s funny, ’cause
the critics, you know, were hot
on Arrested Development.
The public still needed to sort
of catch up to it.
Cross: Yeah, that happens a lot.
I mean, you know, you’re still
obviously in that case,
you know.
(Laughter.)
It’s the kind of thing where
people love it, and they just —
it’s not enough, you know.
Carson: Why do we book him?
(Light laughter.)

David Cross, six eyes.
Cross: We have fun.
We have fun, Carson.
Carson: I know we do.
You know I love you, David.
...
Carson: Arrested Development is
an awesome show.
If you haven’t seen it, it’s
on FOX on Sundays at 9:30 [Carson was wrong. Arrested Development now appears in its new slot at 8:30 after The Simpsons, with one final episode at 9:30 on June 13. —Ed.].
The one and only David Cross.
Thanks for stopping by
Vegas, Dave.
